Family History Research

We get many requests from family historians who are researching a family member who had a connection with All Saints. However we don’t hold records at the Church and so the following resources may be of help to you.

Records of Births, Marriages and Deaths

All Saints Church was completed in 1857 and so all those married and buried at the church will have been subject to civil registration. Websites such as Ancestry offer a search of these records to subscribers and there is also the FreeBMD project, which aims to provide these indexes free of charge.

The records of All Saints church are deposited with the Berkshire Record Office, details of the resources available there can be found on their website.

Until 1857 there was no parish church in Maidenhead and the population was served by the parishes of Cookham and Bray. The following page on the Berkshire Family History Society website explains where you are likely to find church records of your ancestors: Maidenhead – Civil Registration, Churches, Parishes

If your research concerns a relative who may have served in the First World War there may be information available here.

Burials

The Berkshire Family History Society have a publication for sale in their online store which includes all burials at All Saints between 1857 and 1948 – Berkshire Burial Index
